Everyone has a story! We want to hear your TRUE, 5-minute story on the topic
“Georgetown: This Land is Your Land!”
Pitch your story to us, here!
Georgetown Tidal Tales has announced the theme for its second show in 2026, scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 6:30-8:30 PM at Winyah Auditorium, 1200 Highmarket Street in downtown Georgetown. All proceeds from our June Show (over production costs) will be donated to THE OUTREACH FARM, which provides proteins at no cost to organizations feeding the hungry throughout the Grand Strand.
We want to hear your TRUE stories about growing up in the lowcountry, or choosing Georgetown, SC as your home. Something recent may come to mind immediately, or our theme may trigger a memory from your past. Your story must be true and you must be able to tell it in 5 minutes with no notes in front of a supportive Georgetown audience!
Did you have an unusual summer job in Georgetown?
Did you have an interesting experience fishing, boating, or swimming in one of the area’s seven rivers?
Has your family been here for generations? Did you grow up on a family farm? How have you adapted?
Why did you CHOOSE Georgetown as your home?
Can you share something surprising about Georgetown we might not know?
Are you an amazing steward of our Georgetown County environment, and would you share a “win” you recently had?
The point is, EVERYONE has a story–simply submit your pitch online on our home page, or click here. The Tidal Tales Producer will contact you if your story is selected for the show. Next, you will attend a “Zoom” workshop with the other storytellers, where you will tell your story and receive valuable feedback. And then it’s on to the show!
If you are not chosen this time, please don’t be discouraged. You can submit again with a different true story, or pick a future show and submit!
We thank you in advance for your participation and look forward to hearing your pitch!
